A Day in Philly!

Our Vermont daughter and son-in-law-to-be took us to the
Philadelphia Art Museum on Saturday...
helping me celebrate my "60 is the new 40" Birthday!
(that's them in the foreground...)
We walked up the front stairs to the museum
("Rocky" fame) three times! Chad ran it once... Ugh!
Later we went back into the museum through the "back door"
where we found this Jacob Epstein bronze that represents:
compassion, destiny and death...
We spent several hours at the Franklin Institute...
enjoying the new "Where's My Mummie?" exhibit...
We even found time to stop by Independence Hall
and the Liberty Bell... then had a late (very late) lunch at GiGi's!
It was a thoroughly exhausting... fun-filled day together!

  1. Well..........Happy 60-is-the-new-40th birthday!
Looks like you had a wonderful day.

(I've got one of those birthdays looming next year........how did I ever get to be almost 60-is-the-new-40?)

  2. Wow! You just posted this one today! Glad I came by to read it. Looks like some good sculpting ideas could be found in the way of the mummies and bronze statues. Happy Birthday! Don't worry, it only gets better after 60...one year closer to our Lord...that's the way I look at it. 'Though our outward man perishes, our inward man is renewed day by day'.
May you live another 40 years! My husband's mother is now 95!
    Peace

  4. It looks like you spent your birthday having a grand time. I can't even remember my 60th but I'm sure it wasn't spent having that much exhausting fun, or as exciting.
