Late April's Splendor!

Our garden's seem to be coming into their own
splendor a bit earlier this year.
Solomon's Seal, Forget-Me-Not, Lady's Mantle

We had some (much needed) morning rain...
and now boatloads of sunshine and a nice breeze.
Phlox from an Amish roadside stand, Confederate Violet,
and a perennial favorite: Wood Violet.

  2. Isn't this just the most magnificent time of year! Everything is bright green with pinks and purples, whites and yellows peaking through.

    1. Katie and i often comment, this time of the year with the leaves on the trees budding out; we wish it could remain, all year round at times... The colors are so soft and there are even pastel shades of pink and red in the trees.

  3. Beautiful! You have inspired me to post irises, since that and some desert-tolerant perennials (oh, and roses, of course) are all we can fit on our tiny desert yard. :~) I have always wondered what Solomon's Seal looks like in person, as I've only met it in herbals.

    1. I recall you posted pics from one of your previous homes/gardens and the Iris were sensational. Will watch for a new post on your blog...
