Wabi...

I never "tire" of taking photographs of this yard-sale find.
Each year, I marvel at both the beauty and the resilience
of this birdhouse that hangs in our backyard.
The colors, the gentle warping of the wood, the wear-and-tear...
all are at the core of "wabi sabi"

Wishing you wellness of body, mind and spirit... Daryle

  3. Do you get birds living in it every year? I'm sure they appreciate it for both its function AND its form. :~)

    1. Sigh... sad to say; "No!" Because we hang it so very low to the ground, it serves only one purpose: "beauty" We have mature, hedge boxwood adjacent to the brick patio area where this birdhouse hangs... providing home and haven to catbirds and warblers!
