A Watercolor Wash...

We were away over the long weekend... back in Vermont to share
our "final good-byes" with our dear friend.  We were able to enjoy
two visits with Stan and Janet over the course of our stay.
We received word yesterday that Stan went home to be with the Lord;
early that morning. That Stan... he always was an early riser!
Working in our backyard patio garden today...
we planted several new herbs and flowering plants
in celebration of his life... and new life; in Christ!

Blue Flag Iris...Breathtakingly Beautiful!

I couldn't stay out of the garden Jan Conwell...
taking these three pics this evening, just as the sun was
dropping behind our neighbor's towering dawn redwood.
All is well...

Celebrate Life!

TODAY marks the one year anniversary
of my craniotomy... clipping three cerebral aneurysms.
Our God is so good!  Daryle

W.I.P. Times Two...

This "dynamic duo" have been shelf-sitting
for too (two!) long...
and I have been "in the garden" just too much!
(you cannot really spend "too much" time in the garden!)

Life is good!  Daryle

Santos Cage Doll Tutorial on Flickr

I've just put together a tutorial for making
this wooden cage doll skirt...
You can find the free tutorial on my Flickr page...

Here is the link to the tutorial:

Here are a few "teaser" pics from the tutorial...
Enjoy... and please let me kow what you think!

Jack... is Back!

Our Jack-in-the-Pulpit is thriving this spring,
enjoying the company of the ground ivy,
day lilies, and decorative grasses...
I'm smitten by its beauty... the veining, the colors,
the radical shape and suggested preacher in the pulpit!
What can I say?  It's my "day job"... and I love it!
Well Wishes... Daryle

The Backyard Rogue!

This little guy (and his very well established family)
have been the un-welcomed dinner guests
in our backyard flower gardens
for several years now.
Last spring... uninvited, they nipped
all of my lilies and rose campion to stubble
in one evening (or early morning) outing.
I just snapped this pic of the rogue...
romping around our yard, quite oblivious I might add,
 to my presence and preoccupation
with catching him "in the act" on my camera.
This year... I'm "discouraging" their dining
with some concentrated garlic spray!
Cute... but so annoying.

A Touch of Vermont!

This native wild columbine is now in its eighth summer...
since being transplanted from our Vermont roots.
(pun intended!)  Where does the time go?
We suspect that it is in full bloom about a month earlier
than its Green Mountain kin... Ha!
