Encircled Enchantment!

Katie just completed her first "Living Wreath"...
(the "impostors" have found a home... see today's earlier post)

Ordinary "Hen & Chicks" take on an extraordinary beauty
encircled on sphagnum moss, some local moss and potting soil.

The early evening light catches the rich, warm earthen shades
of this time of the year, here in South Jersey...

Ahhhh... Those Scented Geraniums!

For years, my herb garden back in Vermont was filled with
a variety of scented geraniums... fragrant, flowering, and easy!
On a whim this spring, I have decided to introduce some
to our flower gardens here in South Jersey...
Some will be potted in terra cotta and some will take up
permanent residence in the garden soil.

Growing right alongside our brick patio... "Old Fashioned Rose Scented"
It is so fragrant, the scent lingers on your finger tips.

"Lady Plymouth Rose" is along the side garden that I put in
two years ago. This geranium has variegated, well-defined leaves.

This variety... "Cinnamon Geranium"
has much smaller leaves by comparison.

But the brilliant fuchsia flowers
more than make up for the diminutive leaves!

Ah... and then the "impostors!"

We found these "Hen and Chicks" at an Amish farm in
Lancaster County earlier this week... Katie is going to incorporate
them in a metal wreath ring with sphagnum moss.
(we will keep you posted on this one!)
Happy Gardening!

The Progression: From Paper Clay to Publication!

I couldn't be more delighted!
The summer 2014 issue of Prims (which is available May 1st)
is featuring my "Flying Folk Art Angel" on pages 126-129.

I thought it might be fun to post some "start-to-finish" pics!
This guy, like so many of my dolls...took on a life of his own.

Approaching Passover...

Last night, framed behind the branches of one of
our large Ash trees in the backyard...
the moon hung in the sky with a wide orange ring around it.
Approaching a full moon on Passover... in this week that we call Holy.
