South Jersey took a beating earlier this week...
with what ended up being a significant ice storm for us.
Our poor azalea bushes... were all encrusted in ice for several days.
The ice has (for the most part) since thawed,
our power is restored and... all is well!
I admit, I would rather get the 30" of snow that we got than another ice storm. I hope your plants and trees survive Daryle.
ReplyDeleteThank you Judi... and you are correct; we too would take the snow vs. the ice! We were living in Addison County when the Ice Storm of 1998 hit us all so hard up there! I still remember the ice coating our fruit trees, power lines and just about everything else that was exposed to the elements. Our gardens and trees look healthy!
DeleteOh dear!! Ice storms are the worst. We went through a really bad one where we had no electricity for almost a week. Not good!
ReplyDeletePenny... Our mature 40 year old cedars were bending to touch their toes; under the weight of the ice. But they have since all rebounded and seem to be none the worse for wear!

We're thinking everything on our property held up just fine... although our neighbor's Magnolia trees lost all of the blossoms this year.
