His expression is a bit... woeful, this work-in-progress!
But he kinda grows on you, in spite of himself!
His head is paper clay over Styrofoam.
His body is Osnaburg fabric stuffed with polyester fiberfill.
His arms (articulated) and wings are craft finials and plywood.
And those feet...
His shoes are vintage children's shoe forms (size 3 1/2 to be exact!)
Some paper clay hands are (sort-of, kinda) in the works!
Love this one and his expression!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathie... I love this guy's expression too; but am thinking about doing a little "adjustment (wink!) on his lower lip and chin. Daryle
DeleteDaryle, he is lovely, I think his expression is very fitting for a vintage shoe form angel!
ReplyDeleteDeb... I have been "sitting" on those shoe forms for too long and thought they'd be perfect for an elfin-angel little guy! Thank you for stopping by! Daryle
DeleteYou are so creative He is wonderful

Thank you Laura! Daryle
DeleteHe's wonderful!!! I love his expression -- one could create any number of stories seeing him standing there.
ReplyDeletePenny... ah, there must be a STORY there somewhere! (wink) Daryle
DeleteThat little face just makes me want to give him a big cuddle! He's coming along so well Daryle. :)
ReplyDeletePam... I'm working on his paper clay hands at the moment; realizing I just might have to shorten his wooden finial forearms now for better proportions. Thank you for posting a note! Daryle
DeleteHe is adorable! Can't wait to see him finished.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy... I am plugging away! Daryle
DeleteHi Daryle, While thumbing through some older Prims I ran across The Keeper santo doll. I simply adore her!!!! My Mom ran a doll hospital when I was a child and seeing your doll with all the little dolls evoked all kinds of wonderful memories. So thank you for that! I love your style and attention to detail on all your dolls. I can't wait to see this little guy completed.
